Who Are We?
EduGive is a group run by high-school students from the Bay Area. We volunteer to teach free classes to younger students to make an impact in our community. We are passionate about what we do. Meet our team below!
Our Team
Dedication. Experience. Passion.

Lillian Yao
Co-President
Hi! My name is Lillian Yao, and I’m currently a senior at American High. I enjoy different forms of coding, though Java is my favorite language (hence why I’ve mainly taught that!). In the past, I've taken APCSA, done USACO, and am involved with several CS related clubs at school. Making sure everyone likes the class as much as possible is one of my goals, hopefully giving them the opportunity to develop their own passions, without being forced into it. I hope to use my own past mistakes to give kids a good foundation and a fun experience :)

Katie Chen
Co-President
Hi, my name is Katie and I am a senior at American High School. I am passionate about art and design and would love to teach others these subjects. Art is something I love because it is a field that many people enjoy but rarely have a chance to pursue. After drawing for nearly 15 years, I have recently taken interest in digital art platforms and engineering design. I have earned 3 Silver Keys in the Scholastic Art Contest, painted a Fremont City Electric Box, and won 1st place in a National Youth Art Contest. Through Edugive, I had the opportunity to teach young students to create 3D objects using Blender. I wish to teach kids classes that are rarely taught in school and let them grow their creativity!

Tegbir Kaur
Executive
Hi! I am Tegbir Kaur and I am currently a junior at American High School. I’ve always been one to explore my creativity in many ways. From a young age, I always loved creative writing; whether it’d be short stories, novels, or poems. Technology has also always interested me, which is how I ended up researching and teaching myself how to create animated videos through the software Animaker and websites through the software Wix. Additionally, I would love to pursue my passion for many academic subjects as well, such as math and history. My passion for education and my own career goals led me to seek the experience that comes with teaching at EduGive. I am looking forward to working with all of you and I hope that my class makes a lasting impact on all of you! :)

Aishwarya Gogi
Officer
Hello! I'm Aishwarya Gogi and I am a senior at American High School. I enjoy speech, debate, and math, which are important for building life skills. With experience hosting MOEMS Classes at libraries, I've also led speech and debate classes across the bay, inspiring young leaders. Alongside teaching, I love to sing Carnatic Music and look forward to guiding you through an engaging learning journey!

Hasini Methuku
Officer
Hi! My name is Hasini Methuku and I am currently a junior at American High School. I’ve always loved math since I was little, and knew whatever my job would end up being, it would have some sort of math involved. I believe it's very useful to have a strong foundation in math since it’s found everywhere in our day-to-day lives. I also love engaging and interacting with people, and making math fun and unique in its own way, since it can be stated as “boring” sometimes. Outside of school I enjoy swimming which I’ve been doing for almost 8 years. I love to paint and draw (through which I express my creativity), read, volunteer anywhere that includes nature, and spend time with my family. I am incredibly honored to be a teacher at Edugive and I am looking forward to working with you all!

Devyani Choudhury
Teacher
Hi! My name is Devyani, and I am currently a junior at American High School. I am especially passionate about STEM, which I have pursued through a large number of fields, including mathematics, chemistry, coding, and robotics. I am particularly interested in the application of these subjects in a real-world context, as I have found it helps me build a better understanding of the concepts. By teaching geometry, I hope to show younger students the importance of using school subjects outside of the classroom, instead of simply memorizing theorems. I am a huge advocate for accessible education, which is something I’m honored to pursue through Edugive. Outside of school, I love to read, play the piano, and learn new languages. I’m looking forward to working with all of you!

Shreya Panathula
Teacher
Hello! My name is Shreya Panathula, and I am currently a junior at American High School. From a young age, I have been passionate about learning new languages. My journey with Spanish began in seventh grade, and it has been a central part of my academic interests ever since. After completing AP Spanish, I sought opportunities to apply my skills meaningfully, which led me to discover Edugive. Beyond academics, I enjoy reading, writing short stories, and biking in my free time, all of which fuel my creativity and curiosity. I am thrilled to share my knowledge of Spanish and help others build a strong foundation in the language. I look forward to supporting your learning journey!

Vandhana Venkateshwaran
Teacher
Hi, my name is Vandhana Venkateshwaran, and I am currently a sophomore at American High School. I’ve always been fascinated by science, especially topics like biology and chemistry, because they help explain the world around us. Beyond academics, I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others and encouraging curiosity through teaching. I am looking forward to teaching this class and hopefully inspiring your interest in biology!

Shriram Gokhale
Teacher
Hi! My name is Shriram Gokhale and I am currently a sophomore at American High. I enjoy teaching as well as mathematics and so I look forward to teaching this course. In my experience, math can often seem unreasonable if you don’t know how or why it works; I hope to give students a better understanding as well as interest in mathematics, which is an important subject in so many fields. Some of my other interests lie in photography, technology, and film, all which I find fascinating, especially filmmaking.
I am excited to work with you all!

Juliette Karkanen-Molaug
Teacher
Hello! My name is Juliette, and I am a junior at American High School. I’ve always wanted to help people understand math by making education more accessible! I am currently enrolled in Calculus BC, and, with my advanced understanding of math, I want more students to thoroughly grasp the early concepts, so they will have a strong foundation when they take higher level math. I also have experience tutoring English to students in Taiwan and math to students at my high school. Apart from math, I am interested in cognitive and psychoanalytic psychology, and I plan to pursue it in the future. Occasionally, I also enjoy learning languages: I am currently learning Japanese, French, and a little bit of Korean. As a whole, by using my experience, I want to make effective education available to more people, so I am excited to be a part of this program!

Prisha Mathur
Teacher
Hello, my name is Prisha and I am currently a junior at American High School. I am very passionate about animation and video game design. From a young age, I was heavily inspired by Disney films and animated shows. This motivated me to study and make some of my own animations. I have learned softwares such as Maya and Adobe Animate. I also love interacting with kids and often volunteer at the Tech Interactive. In my free time I like to watch movies, draw, paint, and bike. I hope to inspire some sort of creative spark in you and I am very exited to work with everyone!

Vanessa Yao
Teacher
Hi, my name is Vanessa Yao, and I’m a senior at American High. Programming has been one of my interests for the past couple of years, and I’ve had experience with Java, Python, and Web Development. Web Development stands out to me because it combines aspects of design and logic, something I feel is the best of both worlds. I’ve also taught a few coding classes as part of CTI, and I’ve gradually realized the power of leading students into a field they might have less experience in. Through EduGive, I hope to help everyone develop even a small interest in CS and Web Dev, and see how versatile it can be! Outside of school, I enjoy graphic design, watching tv, and writing random lyrics ;)
Our Founders
The ones who started it all...
Tiffany Chen

Co-Founder
Hello! My name is Tiffany Chen, and I'm a college sophmore at UCLA. I'm very interested in the STEM field and particularly enjoy math and programming. I love teaching kids, and I genuinely enjoy interacting with them and teaching them new things. I excel in school, maintaining good grades throughout middle and high school. I have volunteered to teach HTML and Java classes to elementary/middle school students and am doing tutoring as well. Outside of school, I enjoy playing tennis and spending time with friends and family. I wanted to organize this program so that kids would have an opportunity to learn interesting material that is not taught at school and expand their interests and love for learning.
Evelyn Liu

Co-Founder
My name is Evelyn Liu and I am a college sophmore at UPenn. I thrive in academic settings, consistently maintaining good grades throughout my high school career and earning honors in various competitions like USABO. Starting in my elementary school years, I tutored children in subjects such as Math, English, Chemistry, and Biology during and after school. I also have a background of teaching students with learning difficulties. With this experience, I wish to teach students in areas of interest to serve as a base for their future education. Academics aside, I love playing badminton, taking walks, and doodling in my free time. I wanted to organize this program to better prepare students for their upcoming courses as well as to introduce topics to peak students' interests.
